Tulsa Cruises to 84-42 Win over Cameron

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa built a 20-point halftime lead on their way to a 84-42 victory in an exhibition contest against Cameron University on Thursday night in front of a paid attendance of 5,012 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Hurricane improved its record in exhibition games to 46-2.
Tulsa used a balanced attack and Head Coach Doug Wojcik substituted frequently, using all 15 team members in the rout.
Senior Charles Ramsdell, junior Rod Earls and freshman Ben Uzoh scored in double-digits as 13 Hurricane players got into the scoring column. Ramsdell led the way with 11 points, followed by 10 each from Earls and Uzoh. Freshman Jamel McLean led the Hurricane with eight rebounds, followed by Ramsdell and Sam Mitchell with seven boards apiece.
Tulsa's biggest lead in the game was 44 points in the second half, coming at the 2:11 mark as Tulsa led 82-38.
After a sluggish first 10 minutes of the game, the Hurricane used a 10-2 run over a 2:30 span to go up by 14 points, 30-16, with 4:04 left in the first half. Tulsa then out-scored Cameron 7-1 over the final four minutes, out-scoring the Aggies by a count of 17-3 over the final six minutes of the first period.
Tulsa came out in the second half and used an 11-0 run to build a 48-17 lead before Cameron's first field goal, a three-pointer at the 15:31 mark. Rod Earls three-pointer started the scoring barrage just nine seconds gone in the second half.
The Hurricane went ahead by 30 at the 15-minute mark on a Mitchell hook shot. Tulsa's offense was not the only part of the Hurricane game clicking in the second half, as the Hurricane defense was stingy in the second half out-scoring Cameron 28-12 in the first 10 minutes.

For the game, Tulsa's defense forced 27 turnovers and had 12 steals., while holding the Aggies to 22-percent shooting from the field and 15-percent from three-point range.
Tulsa will host East Central University in its final exhibition contest next Wednesday, Nov. 8.
