Tulsa Names Randy Keck as Women's Golf Coach

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa athletics director Bubba Cunningham announced today the appointment of Randy Keck as head women's golf coach.
Keck comes to Tulsa after three years as the head coach at Redlands Community College, where his team placed among the top-three at the NJCAA national championship in each of those three seasons.
"It's exciting to join a program with such great tradition. I look forward to the opportunity of putting Tulsa women's golf back to where Coach Dale McNamara had built it," said Keck. "It will be exciting to recruit to a University that has enjoyed outstanding success and so many fantastic alums that have been through the golf program."
Keck's 2006 Redlands team was crowned national champions, while his first squad in 2005 finished in third-place and this past season's team placed as the national runners-up. In his three years, Redlands CC has captured 13 tournament titles and placed either first or second in over 50-percent of its tournament appearances.
Keck coached the individual NJCAA national champion in both 2005 and 2006. He was named the 2006 NJCAA Golf Coach of the Year after his team won the national title.
Prior to his stint at Redlands, Keck spent two years as the head coach at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas. He coached both the men's and women's golf teams in that capacity, and was named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2004.
Before that, he spent four seasons as the head golf coach at Altus (Okla.) High School. In his final season, his Altus team placed second at the 2002 state tournament, while he earned Oklahoma High School Golf Coach of the Year accolades.
From 1994-99, Keck was a touring professional as he played numerous mini-tour events throughout the United States. He also taught more than 500 golf lessons during that time span.
Keck is joined on the Tulsa coaching staff by Sara Mobley (Mob-lee).

Mobley was named assistant coach in June. The two coaches have combined for three national championships as head coaches. While the head coach at Oklahoma City University, Mobley led her team to NAIA Championships in 2006 and 2007. She was named the NAIA Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2007.
"I'm excited about the opportunity to work with Sara. We've been great friends for a long time and now it's great that we have a chance to work together," said Keck. "Sara has a great attitude towards coaching and life in general. She understands what it takes for golfers to compete at the highest level. She's a great recruiter and has tremendous enthusiasm.
"We're excited to have Randy as our women's golf coach. He has built a great reputation as a teacher and recruiter," said Cunningham. "I'm thrilled with the combination of Randy and Sara, and the great success they have both had as head coaches. Their enthusiasm and work ethic is contagious. We look forward to Tulsa women's golf once again becoming prominent nationally."
A native of Lindsay, Oklahoma, Keck and his wife, Sheryl, have three sons: Clayton, Deacon and Sawyer.
